Split is a Mediterranean city located on the Marjan peninsula. Split is the cultural and political center of Dalmatia (historical region, sometimes much larger, now stretching from Karlobag to cape Prevlaka near Dubrovnik), the official seat of Split-Dalmatia County. In Split, there are about 180 000 people, making it the second largest city in Croatia.

The official history of Split goes back 1700 years in the past, when the Roman Emperor Diocletian built a palace on the site of the city, in which he would retire at the end of his reign. And before that, the Split area was inhabited by Greek colony named Aspalathos, which is the Greek name for a broom (Spartia juncea), shrubs bright-yellow flower that still grows on the eastern slopes of the park-forest Marjan.

In Split You can enjoy a stroll along the waterfront of Split and ancient Diocletian's Palace. Inside the palace there is a rich life with many restaurants, cafes and monuments. Diocletian's Palace is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and it is the only monument of degree zero in the world where life takes place daily and normal. Trogir is a World Heritage Site and is called the "city of monuments." Trogir was founded by Greek colonists in the 3rd century before Christ. Through the centuries it was claimed by the Romans, Byzantines, Hungarians, Venice, Napoleon. Cathedral of St. Lawrence with Radovan's portal and the Chapel of St.John, Kamerlengo, city gates, palaces Čipiko, Town Hall, St. Nicholas, museum, art collection Kairos are just some of the sights of this city.

UNESCO has also stated: "Trogir is worth, Trogir is a world heritage site. But do not look anly for a rock. Reflect the spirit hidden in that rock. Look around for all the builders, architects, artists, patrons, all those stories that are in the background of this stone, which created Trogir and preserved the spirit of past centuries. "
